"Kin-dza-dza". Quotes

The film “Kin-dza-dza” was released in 1986 and divided the audience into two parts: some did not understand anything, others were delighted. In light of today's world events, the number of those who "don't get it" should probably decrease.

The plot in a few words

Two ordinary Soviet people - foreman Uncle Vova and student Gedevan - accidentally teleport to the planet Plyuk in the Kin-dza-dza galaxy. On Plyuk, society is divided into two castes: the privileged chatlanins and the oppressed patsaks, outwardly indistinguishable from each other. The chatlanins have power and privilege, while the patsaks are subjected to humiliation and discrimination. The planet, once technologically advanced, is now experiencing decline and degradation. Plyuk's society is experiencing extreme degradation of moral values. The local Chatlan language consists of only a few words. Flora and fauna have been completely destroyed, all water has been turned into “luts” (fuel), and the only food is edible plastic. The earthlings are trying to return home, and their new acquaintances, local wandering “musicians,” help them in this.

Concise dictionary of the Chatlan language

gravitsapa - engine of a spaceship (pepelats).

KC - a very expensive substance on Plyuk, which serves as a basis for the production of an explosive mixture (as it turns out, this substance is contained in the head of an ordinary "Earth" match).

luts - fuel for pepelats made from water (possibly hydrogen).

patsak - the lowest caste on Plyuk.

pepelats - spaceship.

PJ - the name of the ruler of the planet Plyuk.

tsapa - part of the pepelats.

chatl - monetary unit on the planet Plyuk.

chatlanin - the highest caste on Plyuk.

etsilop - policeman.

Quotes
(The text of the quotes was recorded from the video version of the film “Kin-dza-dza”, director Georgy Danelia, scriptwriters Rezo Gabriadze, Georgy Danelia, Mosfilm, USSR, 1986. Translation of quotes into English was done by the editor of the article).

- Well, on Earth, how do you determine who should sit down in front of whom for how long?
- Well, it’s just by eye...
- Savages... I fell in love with you - I’ll teach you. If I have a little KC, I have the right to wear yellow pants, and the guy in front of me must squat not once, but twice. If I have a lot of KCs, I have the right to wear crimson pants, and in front of me even the boy must squat twice, and the chatlanin must do “ku”, and the etsilop has no right to beat me at night... Never!..

- And what's that? And what's that?! Isn’t this a city here?!

— Are patsaks and chatlans a nationality?
- No.
— Biological factor?
- No.
- Caste?
- No.
— Persons from other planets?
- No.
- How do they differ from each other?
— Are you colorblind, Violinist? Can't tell the difference between green and orange?

— Violinist, instead of always thinking that you are the first Georgian cosmonaut and that they will give you the Nobel Prize, return the spoon that you stole from poor artists.

- Where are you going?
- To the toilet!
- You can't go to the toilet with money. Leave the money here.

- But the Violinist is not needed, dear, he only consumes extra fuel...

- Me - to a planet where they don’t know who should curtsy in front of whom? Nonsense!

— When society does not have color differentiation of pants, then there is no goal!

- Ma-ma, ma-ma, what am I going to do...
- Cool!
- People like it!..

“It’s because you say what you don’t mean, and you think what you don’t think, that’s why you’re sitting in cages.” And in general, this whole bitter cataclysm that I am observing here...

- Here, do it yourself!
- I can’t, I’m a chatlanin.
- How to advise, everyone is chatlanin, but how to work, so...

- Unfair game! You deliberately thought badly about my moves!
- You have to play with your brains.
- How can he play with his brains when he sees these dolls for the first time?

— The proximity to the Kin-dza-dza galaxy is our misfortune. They are consumed by vicious passions. And the continuation of life in the form of plants is good for them.
“Maybe we can call them and ask them, let them say for themselves what is good for them and what is not?”

- Girl, are you the smartest here? Did someone tell you this, or did you decide for yourself?

- Hey! Patsak! Anyway, you’ll kick off your hooves now. Tell the truth at least once in your life. Why didn’t you move with that goat when you could? What did you want? Raspberry pants? Swimming pool PJ? Tell what?

- Think! The diameter of your planet's orbit.

- Which one's the tsapa?
- There, a rusty nut, dear.
- Everything here is rusty!
- And this one is the rustiest.

- The government lives on another planet, dear!

Editor's comment

This film is a warning. This is what will happen to human civilization if Evil wins. If people do not understand that their rulers (who themselves live on another planet!), under false slogans, are feeding them anti-human values, forcing them to die for money. And their state is gradually turning into the planet Plyuk, fenced off from the entire civilized world . And then... “Ma-ma, Ma-ma, what are we going to do...”
