How else can one explain the persistent “blindness” and “deafness” of the President of the United States to the actions of the President of Russia?

One of the latest actions, or rather inactions, of the United States under President Donald Trump:

• Negotiations between the EU and the United States on the joint fight against Moscow's circumvention of sanctions imposed on the aggressor country Russia have ended in failure. This was reported by Suddeutsche Zeitung with reference to an internal report of the German Foreign Ministry following a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels on May 20. 

I am not claiming that for all people the laws of universal morality are above business interests, but there must be limits to cynicism.

I am not claiming that the FSB has dirt on Donald Trump, but I am claiming that it is almost impossible to understand his stubborn unwillingness to blame the aggressor while constantly making claims against the victim.

I am not claiming that Donald Trump was recruited by the KGB, but I am claiming that the KGB could not have overlooked a wealthy American who married a Czechoslovakian citizen in 1977 and has made numerous visits to the socialist camp, including the USSR and Russia, since the 1980s.

I'm not claiming that Donald Trump realizes the consequences of what he's doing....
