In Bratsk, which is not gasified, boasted of its success in gas production

Residents of Bratsk (Russia) were outraged due to advertising of gas production.

Post Editor: Mark Beygelzimer, PhD, systems analyst, head of the Trust but Verify project.

In one of the city’s microdistricts, near a thermal power plant, a billboard was installed with the inscription “Russia is the world leader in natural gas production.”

In response, townspeople began to write en masse on social networks that Bratsk was in fact not gasified, and the thermal power plant itself was heated by coal.

The authorities were justified: the advertisement was placed by a private individual, and they themselves are actively working to connect residents to gas.
