Alexander Mikhailovich Kudryavtsev - Director (from 2017 to 2024) of the N.I. Vavilov Institute of General Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (2019) - stated that before the Flood, human life expectancy reached 900 years.

He made this statement at the meeting of the III International Scientific and Theological Conference “God - Man - World”, which took place on March 14, 2023. Referring to a graph, that “can be found on the Internet” and which he “built” himself, Kudryavtsev noted that people used to live 900 years. Life expectancy began to fall, he said, after the Flood as a result of “original sin.”

The absurdity lies not in the statement that people lived 900 years before the Flood, which contradicts all available scientific data (see, for example, [1], [2], [3], [4]), but in the fact that it is stated by a person who headed the Institute of General Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences for 7 years! I wonder what Nikolai Ivanovich Vavilov, after whom the institute is named, would say about this?
