Alexander Rodnyansky: Some people kill, others save

Reprint of the post for 13.07.2025 from the Telegram channel of film producer Oleksandr Rodnyansky

I will write about a story that moved me.

It took place on the night of July 10 (2025 - editor's note), when Russia attacked Ukraine with missiles and nearly 400 drones, with Kiev as the main target.

As a result of this attack, two Kiev residents were killed and 19 were injured.

It was at this very time that the most complex surgeries were underway at the Okhmatdit Children's Medical Center in Kiev. The organs of the child, whose brain death was confirmed, were transplanted to three other children.

Doctors had to operate under fire - to the sound of sirens and explosions ...

But it was their decision that saved the lives of three children.

A 16-year-old girl in intensive care received a liver transplant,

a 14-year-old boy, who spent seven months in intensive care, received a kidney transplant,

and a 12-year-old girl at the Heart Institute of Ukraine received a heart transplant. All of them were in serious condition, for them it was the only chance to stay alive.

How many movies I have seen about the special bond that arises between the loved ones of the person whose organs gave life to those doomed to die and the people who were saved... I don't know if it is true, but I can't help thinking that the child who passed away continued his life in others....

These complicated operations, which lasted 13 hours, could not be postponed to another time. That is why the doctors had to perform transplants right during the rocket attack on Kiev. They coped.

Some people kill, others save. Everyone always has a choice. The choice of what you dedicate your life to.

My admiration and gratitude to the medics and rescuers ...

All those who protect and save human lives.

Editor's Comment

I was taught that life is the mode of existence of protein bodies. Turns out, not all of them! For some protein bodies, the way of existence is the death of other protein bodies!
